LCSR staff organized the round table devoted to the "Historical Roots of Corruption" within the framework of the conference "Education and Global Cities: Horizons for Contemporary University". After the event, Russian newspaper 'Izvestia' conducted an interview with Professor Eric Uslaner regarding his research on corruprtion.

Phd Positions!

Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) has announced a call for applications for a total of 14 PhD scholarships. The doctoral program is titled "Democracies under Stress" and aims to be inter-disciplinary.

Estimation bias due to duplicated observations

The LCSR staff prepared a summary of Francesco Sarracino`s lecture «Estimation bias due to duplicated observations: A Monte Carlo simulation», which was presented on the Sixth LCSR International Workshop.

Trust and Corruption Perceptions in Russia

The fourth day of the 6th LCSR International Workshop started with the key lecture of the prominent LCSR expert- Professor Eric Uslaner. His lecture “Trust and Corruption Perceptions in Russia” covered the issue of generalized trust in Russia and its influence on the attitude of Russia’s population towards corruption.

Infant Mortality in the World-System

Professor Scott Frey was one of key lecturers at the 6th LCSR International Workshop. His report was devoted to one of the most discussed topics: “Infant Mortality in the World-System: The Cross-National Evidence.”

Democracy Misunderstood

On 20 April 2016, during the 6th International Research Workshop, the LCSR Chief Research Fellow Prof. Christian Welzel gave the special lecture “Democracy Misunderstood: Authoritarian Notions of Democracy around the Globe”.
