CfP: LCSR announces Special Issue «Happiness and Subjective Well-being in Russia»

Laboratory for Comparative Social Research and Journal "Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes" (ISSN 2219-5467) announce special issue call for papers «Happiness and Subjective Well-being in Russia» (Volume 1, 2020). Guest editors: Eduard Ponarin (PhD, LCSR head), Anna Almakaeva (PhD, LCSR deputy head) and Natalia Gashenina (Public Opinion Foundation – FOM).

Manuscripts should be submitted in Russian or in English by the 31st of July 2019 to the managing editor Anna Kuleshova kuleshova[at]wciom.com. Editors’ decision will be announced by the 31st of August. The deadline for submission of the final manuscript is the 13th of October 2019.

The manuscript should be less than 40 000 characters including spaces. Please follow guidelines while preparing manuscript: https://monitoringjournal.ru/index.php/monitoring/about/submissions#authorGuidelines.

 

Overview

Subjective well-being is one of the key indicators of the quality of life.  In contrast to objective indicators of economic development and quality of institutions, it relates to the individuals and demonstrates how happy and successful their life in a specific society. Subjective well-being is a complicated and multifaceted concept which has been investigated by sociology, psychology, political science, economics and medicine. There a lot of studies on the subjective well-being however cross-cultural analysis shows that each country has its own peculiar features.  The current volume deals with subjective well-being in Russia.

Contents of the volume:

  1. Theoretical approaches and methods of analyzing subjective well-being,
  2. Comparative analysis of subjective well-being in Russia and other countries,
  3. Trends and determinants of subjective well-being,
  4. Comparative analysis of subjective well-being in Russian regions.

We accept qualitative and quantitate studies from different areas: sociology, psychology, political science, economics and medicine.
