2nd Research Workshop

The weekly workshop of the LCSR has started on April 23, 2012 in Saint-Petersburg. The event is attended by participants not only from different Russian cities, but also from Belarus, Ukraine, United States, Germany and Italy.

The weekly workshop of the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research has started on April 23, 2012 in Saint-Petersburg. The event is attended by participants not only from different Russian cities, but also from Belarus, Ukraine, United States, Germany and Italy.

In those five days, the members of the international research network of LCSR will deliver the progress reports of their research projectsunder the direction of R. Inglehart, scientific head of the Lab. Public lectures on relevant methodological issues of cross-cultural studies are expected, including lectures from A. Belyanin (HSE, Moscow), P. Hedstrom and A. B Purana (Institute for Future Studies, Stockholm), J. Sumpter (University of Uppsala, Uppsala). You can be found more details about the seminar program here.

Since the last workshop, held in the framework of the international reporting conferenceComparative sociology in quantitative perspective”, organized by the Lab, seven researchers have finished the projects and will talk about the final results of their research. In fact, it is the drafts of articles prepared for publication in international peer-reviewed journals. Among those: Evgenia Bystrov (Yakobsky University of Bremen), Andrey Shcherbak (HSE, St. Petersburg), Kirril Zhirkov (European University, St. Petersburg), Alexander Kustov (University of Mannheim, Mannheim), Alexey Zakharov (NIU School of Economics, Moscow), Natalia Firsova (HSE, Moscow), Evgeni Varshaver (HSE, Moscow).

At the same time, five applicants for associate membership will present their new projects at the current seminar.
