The 12th Conference of the European Association for Comparative Economics Studies

Tatiana Karabchuk is telling about the event

The 12th Conference of the European Association for Comparative Economics Studiestook place on September 6-8 in the town of Peisley, Scotland. Tatiana Karabchuk, deputy director of the LCSR, was a representative of the Lab at the event.

EACES organizes a lot of events every year and its members meet every two years for this big conference. It is a pleasure to point it out that among the EACES Advisory Board members the HSE has its own representative who is Andrey Yakovlev. There were 8 research fellows coming from different departments of the HSE at the conference.

The conference was very interesting and useful for me personally however it wasa meeting primarily for economists not sociologists. The broad list of topics was covered including the labour market and migration; of course each issue was related to the comparative perspective. The keynote speakers gave their talks about changes of comparative studies, Russian and Japan economies of 1930-s and more.

I was presenting there a new topic on wages and informal incomes of police in Russia, Kazakhstan and Bulgaria done within the big project, supervised by Leon Kosals.

What might be interesting for all our fellows and colleagues is the special session on the journals where everyone can publish a paper on comparative issues:
