First day of the Seminar!

We are pleased to announce that the 6th LCSR International Workshop “Trust, Social Capital and Values in a Comparative Perspective” started on Monday, 18 April at the HSE, Moscow. The Seminar is organized within the XVII April International Academic Conference at the HSE.

We are pleased to announce that the 6th LCSR International Workshop “Trust, Social Capital and Values in a Comparative Perspective” started on Monday, 18 April at the HSE, Moscow. The Seminar is organized within the XVII April International Academic Conference at the HSE. 

Prof. Eduard Ponarin (LSCR Director and HSE Professor of Sociology) gave the opening speech. Prof. Ronald Inglehart (LCSR Scientific Supervisor and professor at the University of Michigan) gave a lecture on cultural change. He emphasized that the rising levels of economic and physical security transform societies through reshaping human values and motivation.

Dr. Andranik Tangian (Economic and Social Research Institute, Germany) gave a speech on inequality growth and explained the factors for the decreasing labor-labor exchange rates. There were two special panel sessions on “Values, Cultural Change and. Historical Legacies” and “Family Attitudes and Social Support.”

Many influential social scientists and junior researchers arrived in Moscow to present their research at the LCSR Conference creating a tremendous intellectual atmosphere.
