Demographics in lectures

Dmitry Zakotyansky (LCSR research assistant) gave several lectures on the demographics in the Novosibirsk State University, Russia. The lectures were organized within the program "labor market for social scientists: employment opportunities for graduates of the department of sociology".

Dmitry Zakotyansky (LCSR research assistant) gave several lectures on the demographics in the Novosibirsk State University, Russia. The lectures were organized within the program "labor market for social scientists: employment opportunities for graduates of the department of sociology".

For the first time Dmitry tried his hand as a teacher and shared knowledge acquired during the studies on the Bachelor and Master programs. The basis for the lectures was based on his own master thesis. Dmitry told the audience about the specific object of demography, mortality and life expectancy, fertility and the second demographic transition. The first lecture was dedicated to the historical process of reproduction, the demographic revolution in mortality trends in life expectancy and mortality in Russia. The second and third lectures dealt with the historical trends in fertility, contraceptive revolution, the essence of the first and second demographic transition, the situation with the birth rate in Russia in comparison with other countries. 

Dmitry`s sincere interest in his subject was shared by the audience and lecture time was really entrancing.
