A Special Jury Award for “The Best Quantitative Research on Faith andReligion in Contemporary Russia” from Eduard Ponarin.
The winner is Anna Kul'kova, HSE Master student
Competition of research papers on faith and religion in contemporary Russia among young scholars was held by “Sreda” research company. Eduard Ponarin, the director of LCSR, established a special nomination “The best quantitative research on faith and religion in contemporary Russia”. The awardee in this nomination is Anna Kul'kova, HSE Master student.
Anna is a candidate for a master degree in political science at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics (her scientific supervisor is Mark Urnov). She presented a research paper on “Impact of religiosity on political participation in contemporary Russia (quantitative analysis)”. She investigated the correlation between religious beliefs of the Russian citizens and their inclination to participate in different forms of political activities. The abstract and the whole paper are available on the official web site of the “Sreda” research company. Anna was awarded with a special prize and was invited to participate in 2014 LCSR Summer School on “Categorical Data Analysis” at the expense of LCSR.
