LCSR Summer School Day 10
Read a report on the final day of our Summer School by Alexandra Shishova!
The last day of our summer school started from the theoretical session by Peter Schmidt. But that time the lecture was shorter than always, because today the most brave and hard-working participants presented their models created during the school with Peter’s and Zsofia’s help. Presentations started after the lecture and continued after the coffee break.
Some of the participants managed to build models, but some of them had troubles dealing with it. But at the end everybody received answers to their questions, and everybody was satisfied after the course.
After lunch we had a regular presentation session. There were some changes in the program, so the first speaker was Kirill Zhirkov. His style of presentation was very colorful and it woke everybody up from the after lunch dreaming. Kirill presented his new project which continues his previous study of anti-Americanism. His previous paper now is being edited, and after he receives comments from reviewers, he will send it to a peer-review journal.
The next speaker was Marharyta Fabrykant from Belarusian State University. She presented final report on her project about nationalism, modernism and modernization of values. Her empirical research covered 85 countries and is almost finished.
The final presentation of the school was made by the new participant Andrey Zakharov. He presented his project in the field of education. The topic is “Evaluation of teachers' professional characteristics' and teaching practices' contribution to educational achievements of students”. Andrey’s speech was very interesting and provoked a long discussion.
Some people started to leave in the evening, so it was the time of saying goodbye. And the rainy weather also disposed to a melancholic mood. Nevertheless, we hope that many of today participants and also some new interesting people will meet at the next LCSR Summer School!
