Event ended

We are pleased to announce the 3d LCSR Summer School

Laboratory for Comparative Social Research of the National Research University Higher School of Economics is pleased to announce its 3rd Summer School on “Multilevel Confirmatory Factor Analysis (MCFA) and Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM) in MPLUS”.
The school will take place in August 18 - 30, 2013, near St. Petersburg, Russia.
The goal of this summer school is to provide assistance for graduate students, university faculty, and social scientists in developing their skills in quantitative methods with focus on Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling and Multilevel Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The summer school schedule consists of one main course and two additional optional courses. Working language is  English

Summer school structure:

  1. The main two-weeks course “Multilevel Confirmatory Factor Analysis (MCFA) and Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM) in MPLUS” will be given by professor Hermann Dülmer (University of Cologne), a well known methodologist who is currently the head of Data Archive for the Social Sciences in GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Professor Dülmer has huge experience in teaching multilevel analysis at various summer schools (for example Summer School on Multilevel Analysis in Lisbon, LCSR summer school of 2011). Kirill Zhirkov (MSc, Utrecht University; M.A., European University at Saint Petersburg), a LCSR research fellow, will be assisting during the course.
  2. First week course (optional) “LATEX for Social Scientists” will be given by Alexander Kustov (PhD student of Princeton University).
  3. Second week course (optional) “Data Analysis using R and SQL” will be given by Irina Nikiforova (PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology) who is currently a research fellow at NRU HSE, St. Petersburg.
