“Socio-Cultural Specific of Russian Frontier” by Anna Nemirovskaya and Roberto Foa was published in Russian academic journal Sociological Studies
This paper provides the typology of Russian sociocultural space based on F.J. Turner’s frontier thesis. Using the World Values Survey data, the researchers demonstrate essential differences between Core and Frontiers socio-cultural features with an emphasis on a comparative study of social tolerance, regional identity, trust, civic participation and life satisfaction among the residents of these territories.
