Third International LCSR Workshop starts tommorow

9 a.m, "Oktyabrskaya" hotel, Saint Petersburg

Tomorrow, on April 26, the opening of the Third LCSR International Workshop will take place at 9 a.m. at Saint Petersburg ("Oktyabrskaya" hotel).  Christian Welzel, President of the World Values Survey Association, and Eduard Ponarin, Director of the LCSR, will deliver an opening speech.

Third LCSRInternational Workshop is expected to be one of the major events of 2012 in the social sciences in Russia in general and in Saint Petersburg in particular. It provides a great opportunity for anyone interested to attend lectures given by leading scholars in the fields of sociology and political scienceand know more about advanced methods of social analysis.

During the workshop LCSR researchers will present progress reports on their projects conducted with financial support of mega-grant of the Russian Government. Workshop Program includes fifteen sessions dedicated to various economic, political and social issues. The main topics of the workshop are: transformation of values in Russia and in the world, subjective well-being and quality of life, migration, corruption, gender equality, ethnic relations, and some others. 

Five guest lectures will be delivered by Marcel Das (Tilburg University), Stefan Hradil (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz), Arye Rattner (University of Haifa), Malina Voicu (EUROLAB, GESIS), andBenjamin Lind (HSE).

Members of the LCSR International Research Network will present their projects as well as the winners of the 8th call for associate membership will present their proposals at the workshop. We will host researchers from universities of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany, Israel, USA, Italy, Denmark and Luxembourg this time.

Working language is  English . Registration is mandatory. The workshop will continue for five days to April, 30. Latest news and information about most interesting reports and lectures will be daily published on the LCSR website.
