Nationalism at the modern world: comparative international research
Marharita Fabrikant's article at "Social sciences and modernity"
We are glad to inform that the article of Margarita Fabrykant, associate researcher at LCSR, called “Nationalism at the modern world: comparative international research”, was published at Russian sociological journal “Social sciences and modernity”.
The article presents the results of quantitative comparative research on countries’ indexes of nationalism based on the World Value Survey. Two dimensions of nationalism were indicated – national involvement and multiculturalism – and mutual independence of these measures was justified. It was found that for both dimensions of nationalism regional differences are more important than changes over different time periods. Moreover, quantitative transformations of nationalism throughout the last decades are neither linear nor statistically significant. A positive correlation was indicated between nationalism and cosmopolitanism and subnationalism.
Key words: globalization, multiculturalism, nationalism
Laboratory staff congratulates Margarita and wishes her further scientific progress!
