Tatiana Karabchuk (Deputy Director of LCSR) and Anita Moiseeva (LCSR research assistant) became co-authors of the analytical report "Integration Barometer EDB - 2015" and wrote sections about territorial and demographic differences in integration preferences of the population of CIS countries.

"EDB Integration Barometer" is a long-term applied research project jointly implemented by the Centre for Integration Studies of the Eurasian Development Bank and the «Eurasian Monitor» International Research Agency. The aim of this study is monitoring and research of integration preferences of the population of the post-Soviet space (CIS citizens and Georgia), as well as assessment of foreign political, foreign economic and socio-cultural orientation of the population of the region.  In 2015, the nationwide survey involved more than 11,000 respondents in nine countries in the CIS region: Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

The results of the fourth wave of the project showed that population of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia became more close in three spheres of integration: social, economic and political. The level of approval of the Eurasian Economic Union is 78-86% of the population. On the other hand, the population of Belarus and Armenia demonstrate more interest in integration with EU countries and integration sentiments in favor of Eurasian coalition in the last year has decreased.

Deputy Director of LCSR, Tatiana Karabchuk, revealed that in the large countries (such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine) the residents of different regions have quite diverse integration preferences and the choice between CIS region, EU region and other countries depends on the place of the domicile.

LCSR research assistant, Anita Moiseeva, revealed that different age-groups in given countries has diverse integration orientations. The youth of almost all CIS countries make much less choice of "Eurasian vector" in its economic and cultural preferences than the adult population. Especially, there is a great intergenerational gap in the European CIS countries - Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.
