The Fifth international LCSR Conference promises to be the most intensive

LCSR director Eduard Ponarin and LCSR deputy director Tatiana Karabchuk gave a talk about scientific projects of the Laboratory, current scientific and applied projects, educational aims, and the forthcoming November event, the Fifth international LCSR Conference.

The leadership of the Laboratory is confident that the Conference will be of high quality and interest to the scientific international audience. The participation in the Fifth annual international conference on Cultural and Economic Changes under a Cross-National Perspective will give the nod to find out more about all aspects of the LCRS, listen to presentations of research projects prepared by the laboratory and its partners abroad. 

The conference is happening for the fifth time, but this year will be the first time the leaders of the World Values Survey are coming. Before the conference opens they will hold a session of the committee in Moscow which will determine details of the next wave of WVS research (which happens every five years). Moreover, for the first time LCSR will be joined by a group of researchers from Arab countries.There are so many speakers that LCSR have organised parallel working sections and there will be six special sessions as part of the conference: modernization and inequality, democracy and political participation, perception of family and religious values ​​, social security and corruption, and migration processes.

‘The line up of lecturers makes this our strongest conference yet,’ says Tatyana Karabchuk - ‘and everybody is welcomed to join us!’.

Registration to attend the conference closes on 30th October.
