4th LCSR Summer School: Categorical Data Analysis

Laboratory for Comparative Social Research (LCSR) of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" is pleased to announce the 4th LCSR Summer School on “Categorical Data Analysis”. The general purpose of this course is to make the participants familiar with techniques for handling categorical data. The school will take place in June 29 – July 12, 2014, near St. Petersburg, Russia.
Keynote lecturer: Jacques Hagenaars (Tilburg University, The Netherlands)
Such topics will be covered:- The nature of categorical data
- introduction into loglinear modelling
- Logit models
- categorical SEM
- latent class (measurement) model
- Studying changes over time
- Other survey complexities
Everyone interested is invited!
Working language is English.
For application one should submit: (1) Curriculum Vitae; (2) a covering letter (not more than 400 words); (3) abstract of the research project (not more than 1000 words); (4) description of the data one is going to use during the practical course (not exceeding 200 words).
On competitive basis a restricted number of free of charge places will be spread. Besides, we will also provide additional 15 places for participants for 1000 euro (including accommodation, food and summer school fees).
