Исследовательский проект:

"Analysis of subjective wellbeing and social values in the context of the macro-level behavioural patterns": Research find that social values have strong and significant effect on individual wellbeing across European countries. However, most of the studies use economic macro-level indicators, and ignore general behavioural patterns that seem to be a relevant context in which individual social values should be explored. Existing time-use data collected within the Harmonized European Time Use Survey project in 15 European countries indicate that those macro-level behavioural patterns differ substantially across nations. This project intends to explore how the effect of social, family, or leisure values on subjective wellbeing is moderated by the relevant macro-level behavioural patterns (including the patterns of social interaction) existing in a given society. It intends to merge the 1999 European Value Study data and the Harmonized European Time Use Survey (1998-2005) data to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic. The effect of macro-level variables will be explored in two separate sets: one representing social and participatory activities (participation rates and average time spent on: informal help; participatory activities; visits and feasts; and other social leisure), the other accounting for the social presence (with whom time is spent over a day: alone, with an adult household member, or with someone else). Micro-level variables will come from EVS, and will include: importance attached to family, friends, and leisure; leisure preferences, and participation in social organizations. The dependent variable is the satisfaction with life on the whole, which is assumed to reflect subjective well-being. Relevant multilevel models will be estimated using maximum likelihood estimation.
