Centre for Youth Studies of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” (St. Petersburg, Russia) organizes the international conference “Youth and Society: in the Search for New Solidarities” that will take place in St. Petersburg, October 16th to October 17th 2015, in Higher School of Economics.

The Conference is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of youth studies in Russia performed by the researchers from the Research Centre “Region” and the Centre for Youth Studies. (The conference is financially supported by Higher School of Economics). The goal of the conference is to discuss the problems and peculiarities of contemporary young people, as well as various experiences of youth research in Europe and in Post-Soviet countries in particular. The range of the conference topics is broad and includes:

• Youth cultures, subcultures, and solidarities;
• Youth at labour market;
• Youth and education;
• Youth consumption and lifestyles;
• Youth and Memory;
• Youth and Social Control;
• Civic engagement and civic identity of young people;
• Youth politics;
• Youth and media space;
• Sexuality, body, and gender in youth studies;
• Youth in global world: migrations and mobilities;
• Urban and rural youth;
• Youth and generations. 

 Moreover, during the conference we will discuss the theory and methodology of youth studies and, in particular, the action and participatory research methods.

There is no participation fee. The participants should take care of their travel and accommodation costs themselves.
